Welcome to my site! I’m PJ Kaiser and I write short fiction and the occasional online serial. I write in a variety of genres since I haven’t yet found a genre with which I want to be monogamous.
What you’ll find at “Inspired By Real Life”
Here at Inspired By Real Life, you can find samples of my free serial fiction and flash fiction. All fiction on the site comes with an audio recording (recorded by yours truly). I do occasional nonfiction book reviews on topics that interest me and I blog about many things, including news about and what I’ve learned on my writing journey and what inspires me as a reader and a writer. I also have several recurring (but not necessarily regular) features on my site, including:
- “Inspiration Minute” on Mondays in which I share a link to a site or a video that has inspired me and might inspire you.
- “Inspired Links” which I compile on Tuesdays and contain the best links that I’ve come across during the course of the week.
- “Three for Thursday” in which I share three interesting things on various topics.
Meet PJ
I live in Hoboken, New Jersey and have been happily married for over fifteen years. We have two young children. Since growing up in Ohio, I have reached New Jersey by way of Columbus, OH, Chicago, IL, and Mexico City (yes, the one in Mexico). I am a stay-at-home mom and have enjoyed a variety of previous careers including management consulting, teaching piano, working as a volunteer coordinator at an orphanage, doing grant writing for a university, and serving on the board of a small foundation.
I am the editor at Metro Fiction, the fiction column at Metro Moms Network, and an occasional contributor to the site. Metro Moms is a community focused on providing information and resources to benefit parents – both in their role as a parent and as a professional. My editor’s page has a link to all of my contributions on the site.
I am also the co-moderator of “Tuesday Serial,” a weekly collection of links to the latest installments of some of the web’s best online serials.
